SOLAR ENERGY

Using the sun's energy to heat water is not a new idea. However, we can use the latest technologies to improve the process. Not only to save money but also to help save the environment.

Afortek selected the most advanced and proven solar thermo system for Northwestern Ontario. The selection was made after a thorough study, speaking to renowned scientists and meeting with solar industry leaders. The chosen solar thermo system is based on the "evacuated tube-heat pipe."

hp copy Advantages and benefits of the "evacuated tube - heat pipe"
  • Efficient year round operation in Northern Ontario (-40 to +40)
  • Reduced reliance on fuel with increasing cost
  • Reduction of environmental impact - reduced GHG emissions
  • Financial savings of up to 70% of energy bill
  • Low maintenance and silent operation
  • Strong enough to withstand hail up to 25 mm in diameter
  • Reliable and long service life of 20-25 years
  • Passively tracks the sun all day
  • Proven and in use around the world

In 1931, Thomas Edison said “I’d put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don’t have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that.”
