One of Afortek’s projects is the experimental-demonstration, family size greenhouse to demonstrate to Northern Ontario citizens, that it is possible to extend the vegetable growing season by using the available renewable energy. In this case - solar hot water in floor and radiator heating, and biomass pellets, produced from local wood and grasses (spoiled hay, etc.).
This picture shows not covered yet in floor – radiant tubing for hot water circulation. Next photographs will be showing the building progress. Suggestions for potential reduction of heat loss of the greenhouse will be warmly accepted.
